Indian Army SSC Tech Men Recruitment 2026 notification has been released for the 67th Short Service Commission (Technical) Course (Men), scheduled to commence in October 2026. Through this recruitment drive, the Indian Army aims to fill around 350 vacancies across multiple engineering disciplines.

Eligible unmarried male candidates holding a B.E./B.Tech degree can apply online from 07 January 2026 to 05 February 2026 through the official website of the Indian Army. Final year engineering students are also eligible to apply, subject to fulfilling degree requirements before training.

Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of pre-commission training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, and will be commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech degree in relevant engineering streams from recognized Indian universities or institutions approved under UGC/AICTE/IIT/NIT/IIIT Acts.

Final year engineering students can also apply but must submit proof of passing by 01 October 2026 and provide the degree certificate within 12 weeks of joining training.

Candidates holding foreign engineering degrees are not eligible.

Only the engineering streams mentioned in the official notification will be accepted. Any mismatch in stream name between degree and application may lead to cancellation.

Nationality

Candidates must be:

  • Indian citizen, or

  • Subject of Nepal, or

  • Person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with eligibility certificate

Marital Status

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible. Marriage during training is not permitted and may result in discharge.

Physical Standards

Minimum physical requirements include:

  • 2.4 km run in 10 minutes 30 seconds

  • 40 push-ups

  • 6 pull-ups

  • 30 sit-ups

  • Squats and lunges

  • Basic swimming ability

Age Limit (as on 01 October 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 20 years

  • Maximum Age: 27 years

  • Date of Birth must be between 01 October 1999 and 30 September 2006

Only the date of birth mentioned in Matriculation Certificate will be accepted.

Training & Service Details

  • Training Duration: 49 weeks

  • Rank after training: Lieutenant

  • Option for Permanent Commission after 10 years

  • Promotion to Captain after 2 years, Major after 6 years

Cost of training is borne by the Government. Candidates leaving training voluntarily may have to refund training cost.
