IIT Bombay Technical Officer Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification and work experience requirements for the respective discipline.
Technical Officer (Scale I) – Backlog Vacancy (Software Engineering)
Applicants should possess a B.Tech/B.E. in any discipline, MCA, or M.Sc. in Computer Science/Information Technology with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized institution. Candidates must have 6 years of relevant experience, including 3 years at Pay Level-7 or 1 year at Pay Level-8, along with at least 4 years of experience in Object-Oriented Programming Languages, Linux Environment, APIs, and Database Technologies.
Technical Officer (Scale I) – Software Engineering
Candidates should have a B.Tech/B.E., MCA, or M.Sc. in Computer Science/Information Technology with at least 55% marks and 6 years of relevant work experience, including the required experience in software development, Linux systems, databases, APIs, and object-oriented programming languages.
Technical Officer (Scale I) – Physics Department (Cryogenics)
Applicants must possess a B.Tech/B.E. or M.Sc. in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering with 55% marks. Candidates should have 6 years of relevant professional experience, while M.Tech degree holders require only 4 years of experience. Experience gained during a Ph.D. programme may be considered up to a maximum of 3 years as per institute norms.
Technical Officer (Scale I) – Sustainability Office
Candidates should hold a B.Tech/B.E. or M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or Sustainability-related disciplines with at least 55% marks.
