Indian Army DG EME Barber Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline

The Directorate General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DG EME), Indian Army has released an official notification for the recruitment of 01 Barber post for the year 2026. This is a Group ‘C’ civilian post and will be filled through the offline application mode.

Candidates who have passed Matriculation (10th class) and possess basic proficiency in barber trade can apply for this recruitment. The application process started on 24 January 2026, and interested candidates must ensure that their application reaches the concerned authority within 21 days from the date of publication of the advertisement. For candidates belonging to remote areas, the last date is extended to 28 days.

Selected candidates will be posted at Static Workshop, DG EME, Sri Vijaya Puram (Andaman & Nicobar Islands).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Essential Qualification:
  Matriculation (10th) pass or equivalent from a recognized board with proficiency in barber trade.

• Desirable Qualification:
  Minimum one year experience in barber trade.

Age Limit (as on last date of application)

• Minimum Age: 18 Years

• Maximum Age: 25 Years

Age Relaxation

• PwBD Candidates:
  10 years (15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC)

• Ex-Servicemen (ESM):
  Service period will be deducted from actual age, and the remaining age should not exceed prescribed limit by more than 3 years.

• Departmental Candidates:
  Up to 40 years (45 years for SC/ST) with at least 3 years continuous government service.

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted in the following stages:

1. Written Examination (OMR Based)

• Total Marks: 150

• Duration: 2 Hours

• Negative Marking: 0.25 for each wrong answer

2. Skill Test & Physical Test

• Only for candidates who qualify written exam

• Qualifying in nature

3. Document Verification

Final selection will be based on merit and verification.
