South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 – Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed Class 10th / SSC under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
  • Candidates must hold an ITI certificate in the relevant notified trade from an institute recognized by NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) or SCVT (State Council for Vocational Training).
  • Candidates must possess the required qualification as on the date of online application submission.
  • Engineering graduates and diploma holders are NOT eligible for this Act Apprentice notification — they are covered under a separate apprenticeship scheme.

South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 – Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a stipend during the apprenticeship training period at rates prescribed as per extant instructions under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The exact stipend rates will be as specified in the official notification and Central Apprenticeship Council guidelines.

Note: There is no guarantee of regular railway employment after completion of the SCR Apprenticeship Training Programme.

South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 – Selection Process

1. Merit-Based Selection (No Written Test / Interview) Selection for SCR Act Apprentice 2025-26 is purely based on merit. The merit list will be prepared by taking the average of percentage marks in Class 10th and ITI, giving equal weightage to both.

  • Class 10th minimum requirement: 50% aggregate marks
  • Both 10th and ITI marks are given equal (50:50) weightage

2. Tie-Breaking Rule If two candidates have the same average percentage:

  • The older candidate (higher age) will be preferred.
  • If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be preferred.

3. Document Verification (DV) Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification where all original certificates must be produced, including:

  • Educational certificates (10th Marksheet, ITI Certificate)
  • RDAT / NAPS Registration Certificate
  • Caste / EWS / PwBD certificate (if applicable)
  • Ex-Servicemen Discharge Certificate (if applicable)
  • Medical Fitness Certificate from a government-authorized Gazetted doctor (not below Assistant Surgeon rank)

 Candidates without a valid medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format will not be considered at Document Verification.

4. Training Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training as per the Central Apprenticeship Council syllabus at designated Workshops, Divisions, and Sheds of South Central Railway across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh.
